NYC Mass Timber Studio: Final Review Presentation

As part of NYCEDC’s Mass Timber Studio, we’ve been exploring the possibilities of mass timber for the New Lots Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library in collaboration with MASS Design Group, Envoie Projects, and Silman Structural Solutions. During Climate Week NYC, we had the opportunity to present our progress at the studio’s final review, sharing lessons learned and key takeaways from this innovative initiative.

Our work on New Lots Library continues to deepen our commitment to sustainable building practices and innovative material use, reinforcing mass timber’s potential to transform the city’s built environment.

We’re excited to see how mass timber will play a role in the future of public architecture in New York, and we look forward to continuing this important work.
